Coin Carts....

The girls wanted me to tell everyone about the shopping carts here. They cannot get over this, thinking it is very bizarre.....
All carts on post and out in the towns require you to deposit a coin in order to unlock and use. Most take an USD quarter, but you can also put in a 2e or .50 euro coin.
It has become a joke in the family that everyone carries coin in their pocket in case we run across some sort of coin/cart emergency.

At a German Market the girls found this to be handy. Not only did they each have coins in their pockets, the market even had carts their size to use.

And yes, you can get your coin back. You just have to return it to the corral and join it to the chain of the cart in front and your money pops back out at you.

And yes there are those days when I get everything in the car and still leave my cart out and about, choosing to forgo my money back. I do not look at it as lazy. Instead, I am "paying it forward"......
